Benefit Go TropiCORAL Kit: Review


So recently I broke my Sephora virginity by visiting the newly open Sephora in High street phoenix mall. I’m so happy that at last Sephora has opened in Mumbai. Packing: 

I love its packing. It’s somehow beautiful blend of being really cute and exceptionally sturdy, which makes it extremely travel friendly. The tint & High beam is housed in small sturdy plastic bottles with good applicators.  Coralista Blush is embedded in the kit itself but can be easily deported if need be. Applicator is of good quality but a bit scratchy. Ultra Plush Coralista Lipgloss comes in plastic tube that has nozzle which helps it to apply the product easily.

My Experience: (With each product individually)

Benefit Chacha tint:

It was probably the first tint I ever knew about. Benefit describes it as mango tinted lip and cheek tint but in reality it’s a nice orangey - peachy shade which looks quite lovely on the skin. I have fair to medium skin tone and it gives appearance of a nice radiant looking skin. It makes my skin look naturally flushed like after a good workout. As it is a tint it works in very subtle way, but color is definitely buildable. .

It dries very quickly so need to blend it fast else it will give patchy finish. It has very impressive stay time; it lasted for 5 hrs in such humid climatic condition of Mumbai. As the name suggest it’s made for lips as well, but I prefer to wear it on cheeks as it dries my lips and then look extremely patchy and gross.

All in all I really like it for days when I’m too lazy and want to look natural but put together.

Benefit High Beam

As per the description provided by Benefit, it’s described as luminescent skin enhancer which is lot of fancy words for a highlighter. It is a very nice satiny pink color highlighter which works well for people with pink undertones. My skin has yellow undertones hence it looks bit off on my skin, which is a shame as I had lot of expectation from it. It blends beautifully and gives very subtle glow and makes you look radiant and glowing without making you look like disco ball.

It comes with applicator wand which is of good quality and does a good job. I was bit disappointed with it but will definitely find a way around the pink undertones.

Benefit Coralista Blush

One of benefits bestseller, Benefit Box O' Powder CORALista blush described as a warm, coral- pink cheek powder (Blush). It has gold micro shimmer which again gives very nice glow to the skin. I like to use it as blush and highlighter all in one package. My inner lazy is always happy with such product.  It would suit most of skin tones, but darker skin beauties might have trouble with it showing up as the color is very neutral and only gives naturally flushed skin. It has pretty good staying powers and fades evenly after 3-4 hrs.

Mini Powder Brush

The Benefit Box O' Powder CORALista blush is accompanied with this small cute brush, which is only decent thing about it. It doesn’t really work and is very scratchy to the skin. So basically, a waste.

Benefit Ultra Plush Coralista Lipgloss

Last but not the least is Benefit Ultra Plush Coralista which as per benefit is a sheer coral color lipgloss and they could not have described it better as it really is a very sheer gloss. It adds just a hint of color to the lips but a lot of gloss. Since its gloss it’s not at all long lasting and disappears in 1 hrs. Max. It has sweet smell but not over the top and is not very stick in texture. Personally I’m not a fan of gloss so will definitely give it to some once else who would appreciate it better.

Overall, I think it’s a fantastic kit as it lets you try a lot of products without having to buy them individually, and I loved almost all the products from it.

So recently I did this really big haul from Maybelline and L’Oreal from their color riche range. I love their products and most of them are really value for money, also most products I got were on my which list for long time.

I really wanted to try these pallets for a long time. I got both the pallets Rose & in Beige. Both the pallets have very neutral everyday shades. Most of the shades have matte or satiny finish. That is one of the reason I got these palate as I had eye shadows that shimmer in them. All the Eye shadows from these pallets are very silky and easy to work with. Color payoffs of some shades are much better than others and would definitely require primer underneath for the colors to show better. I’m not someone who wears lot of colors on my eyes so both these pallets are very useful to me.

L'OREAL PARIS LIPLINER COUTURE (INR 699)

Next up I got these beautiful newly launched lip liners from L'Oreal, and I cannot emphasis enough how much I love them. So I got 3: 374 Intense Plum, 461 Scarlet rouge and 258 Berry Blush. They are the softest lip liner that I have ever used and color payoff is mind blowingly good. You can literally use them as lipsticks; they are that soft and moisturizing.

I wanted these lippies since the time they launched. I got 4 lipsticks from this range: 115 Rouge Corail, 131 Mistinguette, 132 Magnolia Irrelevant, 133 Rosewood Nonchalant. Again these lipsticks are just beautiful; they are really soft and moisturizing. My favorite is 131 Mistinguette, it’s a lovely every day pink shade and my go to color right now. Their stay time is around 3-4 hrs. and leave a lovely tinted lips once they wear off.

I can never leave Maybelline counter without buying their baby lips lip balm and this time was no different. I picked up 2 variants: Orange and Mixed Berry. I loved the packing and the vibrant colors of these lip balms. They have good color payoff and one can even use them alone for natural looking lips. I generally like Maybelline Lip balms so no qualms there.

This product was not on my wish list per say but I was in need of good compact and I thought what the hell and got this one for me, it’s in shade shell which suits me fine. Coverage is sheer to medium. It’s a decent compact if you are on budget.

Makeup Revolution Protection Pallet : Review

They have come up with a beautiful pallet called Makeup Revolution Protection Pallet that have combination of 3 different toned concealers, pressed powder, blush, highlighter and bronzer, so you really do have everything you need to perfect your base. Along with that pallet it has really good quality large mirror. Yay!!

Packaging:

It comes in standard makeup revolution packing which is classy black and rose gold. What I like the most about the packing is that it is classy simple and to the point with all the necessary information. It is nice sturdy pallet and completely travel friendly so that you can carry it around for touchups. 

It has 3 concealers of 3.5 gms each, 7.2 gms of Face powder and 4 Gms each of blusher, highlighter and bronzer. I feel it is sufficient quantity and it totally justifies the price of product..

Experience:

I had really wonderful experience with this pallet and I’m totally in love with it. Let’s check each item individually to know why I’m head over heels in love with it.

 Concealers: 

Like I said before, there are 3 concealers on the left side of pallet in light, medium and dark shade. Concealers are nice thick, smooth and super creamy in texture. They are extremely easy to blend and to work with. I feel like they have cream to powder type formula so they don’t look cakey when applied to eye area or blemishes. 

It doesn't provide full coverage but are still good for everyday use. Light one is too light for me so mostly I use it for subtle highlighting. As there are 3 concealers one can mix and match them to suit their skin tone perfectly.

Once they are set with powder they are good for at least 5 -6 hours without touch ups. Even with its creamy texture it doesn't slide or causes oily looking skin. Despite their creaminess they are very light weight and look absolutely natural once blended and set with powder.

Compressed Face Powder:


Next up is compressed face powder. It has soft silky smooth texture and the shade suits my skin perfectly. I normally just use it for my under eye and T zone. I love its light weight formula and translucent dewy finish it imparts to my face.

Bronzer Blush and Highlighter:

Bronzer, blush and Highlighter are perfect for contouring. They are extremely pigmented and can be easily compared with high end brands.

Just one swipe of highlighter is sufficient to impart natural glow to the face without looking over the top. It is so insanely pigmented that if not used wisely one can really end up looking like a disco ball.

Contouring powder is matte powder with no orange or red undertones that makes it perfect for contouring. It is my most favourite item from the pallet.

Blush is in nice dusty rose pink which gives beautiful natural flush to the skin. Again blush is insanely pigmented and need to be used sparingly. It is perfect for daily use.

All the three together makes a perfect combo for Indian skin tone. Just like powder they are really smooth and have silky texture. They bend beautifully to give very natural and flawless effect. Plus they have amazing staying power..

I just can’t tell you give how much I love this pallet and I cannot recommend it enough.

I totally love Makeup Revolution Protection Pallet and it has always come in handy in all the situations. I only have this one makeup product in my bag as it does all the jobs if I ever wanted to touch up my makeup.
