Best butter in town: The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter Review

The sole reason I bought this was because I saw the word butter written on it, Ya I know sometimes I do crazy stuff, we all do; that’s what makes us Right gals…

Anyway next thing I did was to Google baba to find out how it works, like we do after all our impulse purchases. After reading the reviews I was really happy that I go this product as most bloggers gave it rave reviews. I used it in lot of different ways but eventually found out how to use it the best.

So without further delay let’s just get right on to it.

Packaging:

The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter comes in a slim aluminium tub with twist lid which goes on securely. The tub is extremely lightweight and flat. All the important information is given at the bottom of the tub. Packaging is very travel friendly. The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter  comes in solid form and one can be assured that there is not going to be any leakage during transit.

Only down side of this packing is that it’s unhygienic as we need to remove the product by scooping it out, which makes sense as the butter is in solid form and no other packing would have been helpful. I use the spatula that came with other product to remove the required product, which easily overcomes problem.

Fragrance:

The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter has very mild & soothing fragrance; and it vanishes the moment you wash it off. It is a boon for people who prefer odourless products.

Texture:

The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter has consistency of normal balm similar to vicks vapour rub or petroleum jelly. I was bit sceptical as this comes in thick white paste, but the moment I spread it on my face it melted to oily sort of consistency. In spite of this it comes of easily when you wash your face and doesn't leave any oily residue behind.

All you need to do is massage the balm on you dry face (It works better this way) and it melts your makeup away let it be the smudge proof liner or water proof mascara they all just melt away in matter of seconds making it one of the best makeup remover that I have used .

After that just wash your face with plain to get rid of the muck (I prefer to use face wash just in case). Another plus is. It doesn't make your face feel dry or scratchy, in fact it makes your face feel really soft & nourished.

My Experience:

The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter is very similar to the Clinique cleansing balm makeup remover, which is much more expensive and not at all travel friendly due to its bulky packing

I have very sensitive eyes and it water like crazy when I try to remove my makeup, but surprisingly this one did not  irritate my eyes at all.

Although this is a balm/oil cleansing butter, it is a non comedogenic product which means it will not clog you your pores and cause a big breakout. This is safe to be used by all the skin types.

Some of you may feel its bit expensive but the quantity you get justifies the price. Also as only pea size product is required for to clean up the entire face it will last for long time.

I feel this is one of the best makeup remover/Cleansing butter and  I'm completely in love with The Body Shop Camomile Sumptuous Cleansing Butter

Empties: #1 (SKIN & BODY CARE)

After seeing so many empties post and vlog I was inspired to do one as I’m a hoarder and keep on collecting junk for no apparent reason.

Below empties are of last few months combined and will do new post of empties once every 3 months in future.

Skin & body care:

1.     Votre Mangifera Hand & Foot Gel Cream Spf 15: (550Rs):
I had received it in fab bag, dint really like it smelled weird must have used it hardly 3-4 times. It had glue like consistence and texture and was over all a disappointment
Buy it again: Never
Recommended: Most definitely not recommend

2.      Nivea lipcare fruity shine: Cherry: (129 Rs)
It was my go to lip balm in winters. Loved it to bits as it moisturized really well plus gave a very nice rosy tint to the lips. It smells really nice and was sweet to taste.
Buy it again:  surely buy it again, once all my current lip balms are finished
Recommended: A must try

3.     Nivea lip butter: Caramel Cream: (189 Rs)
One more Nivea product, I quite like this balm for there lip balms. This was a decent product and used it mostly for night time. It smelled of caramel and was extremely moisturizing.  Good product but I don’t think ill but it again, since it came in tub packaging scooping out product was both problematic and unhygienic to say the least.
Buy it again: Probably not
Recommended: Not really

4.     Labello lip butter: Raspberry Rose: (189 Rs)
I felt it was copy of Nivea lip butter so pretty much felt same about it.
Buy it again: Probably not
Recommended: Not really

5.     Lakme Lip Love Lip Care: Cherry: (200Rs)
This is a really good lip product, but not a good lip balm. I liked the red tint that it gave to my lips. Most of days I could just use it instead of lipsticks which was good for winters as it provided decent hydration to lips
Buy it again: Probably not
Recommended: if you like tinted lips with light moisturising effect

6.     Mark & Spencer hand and nail cream: Cocoa butter: (199 Rs)
Loved this had cream and was my savoir in winters finished it in straight 2 months. It moisturised my hands really well plus smells divine. It has a very comforting, nice mild chocolaty smell.
Buy it again: Yes
Recommended: Totally

7.     Lakme absolute skin gloss gel crème: (399 Rs)
I was using it before winters started it is a good moisturiser for summer gets easily absorbed in skin without feeling heavy on skin and provided good hydration to skin. It’s a good light weight moisturiser with good texture But nothing great or outstanding about this product to mention per say
Buy it again: Probably not, there are other variants from other companies which I might try for summers
Recommended: Give it a try

8.     Neutrogena oil free makeup remover: (365 Rs)
One of my most favourite make up remover of all time. I must have used at least 3 bottles of this. Detailed review of it coming soon.
Buy it again: Yes. Already got the next bottle
Recommended: Totally

9.     Nyassa oudh showers: (349 Rs)
Awesome smell very fresh like early morning after first rain. Last for around 1-2 hrs. after shower. It cleanses the skin without drying the skin. Overall, a really nice product.
Buy it again: mostly Yes, currently using different variant from Nyassa
Recommended: Totally

10. EverYuth ultra mild apricot scrub: (70 Rs)
A good mild face scrub which does what its suppose to do but nothing out of ordinary. Also some people may find it too mild for their face. Good product if you are just getting hang of scrubs else give it a miss.
Buy it again: No
Recommended: Not Really.

11.Moha soap: Ayurvedic : (Rs 68)
Usually I like soaps with “ayurvedic /herbal smell” but not this one somehow I just dint like it. Okayish product I had high hopes as I had read some good reviews of it, But alas.
Buy it again: No
Recommended: No

So these were few skin care products I managed to finish in last months. Up next is hair care and make up empties.

This was my first attempt at empties please let me know what you think about it also if there are few points that I have missed that I should have covered please let me know.

Constructive criticism is always welcomed. Thanks!!

Clean & Clear Pimple Clearing Face wash with Neem and Lemon: Review

Hey darlings..

As per me the most important thing  for perfect makeup is well nourished hydrated pimple free skin, and we all spend quite some time searching for products that will grant our wish. Today’s review is about a product that claims to give pimple free skin from first wash. So let’s see if it proves its claims……

Without further delay Introducing to you “Clean & Clear Pimple Clearing Face wash with Neem and Lemon “…

I have acne prone combination skin so I’m always in search of good facewash which helps prevent the pimples and give soft clear skin. For the longest time I was using AHAglow which worked extremely well, but eventually got really bugged of it and bought this one, as it has  Neem and Lemon which is known to  prevent pimples. I was not expecting miracles from this one, just something that won’t make my skin dry and would help with pimple problems..

Clean & Clear Claims: A gentle yet effective face wash that helps treat pimples from first use and prevents spreading. Its gentle Neem-Lemon formula works well on pimple prone skin and reveals smoother, clearer skin in 7 days with daily use.

Directions To Use:

Apply a small amount on wet palm and work into a rich lather. Gently massage onto face, avoiding the eye area. Rinse off thoroughly. Use twice daily for skin that’s clean, clear and beautiful.

Ingredients :

Price: 55 Rs for 40 ml

Texture

It comes in nice gel formula which is slightly green in color. I prefer gel facewash as they are easy to work with and are not drying as foam based ones. It has very mild herbal like fragrance to it, smells slightly like neem which is not irritating at all and goes after 1-2 mins. It has shelf life of 24 Months from date of manufacture, which gives good enough time to finish the product.

Packaging

Clean & Clear Pimple Clearing Face wash with Neem and Lemon comes in simple tube packaging but I really love its funky green shade. Packaging is sturdy means you can carry it while travelling with no tension off leakage. It comes in inverted packaging with flip-top cap that prevent any kind of leakage of the product.

Experience:

I only require a tiny drop or a pea sized amount of this face wash to wash my face and that amount is more than enough to achieve a nice squeaky clean face. It removes the dirt, grime, and oils from the face very effectively. As it is gel based I don’t directly use it on my , usually dilute it with little water and the use it. It doesn’t lather mush but is efficient to lightly cleanses my face. It rinse easily with water and after cleansing my face with Clean & Clear Pimple Clearing Face wash with Neem and Lemon I noticed my skin feels fresh and clean with its just first attempt wash.

It doesn’t make my skin dry or scratchy which is big plus for me. As per its claims it works well on tiny pimples from first wash, as I had few on my chin which reduced slightly after using it, though it showed no effect on preventing new pimple from poping up.
Also it doesn’t work on old pimple marks/scars, as mine remain unaffected by it.

Overall thoughts:

It is perfect for daily use for normal to combination skin type My skin feels fresh and clean after every use of this Clean & Clear Pimple Clearing Face wash with Neem and Lemon. Affordable and travel friendly, highly recommended for teens and pimple prone skin

Pros:
  1.  Affordable
  2. Travel friendly
  3.  Suitable for all skin types
  4.  Doesn’t dry the skin
  5.  Skin feels fresh and clear deeply
  6.  Works well on pimples
  7.  Oil free
  8. Doesn't clog pores
  9.   Easy to rinse
Cons:
  1.   Doesn't work on acne marks
  2.    Doesn't prevent new pimples from poping up

Rating: 4/5

Recommendation: Definitely recommend to use it.

Haul : Gia bath and body works.

Hello beautiful ladies, like I said before December was month of shopping for me hence lot of hauls coming up..
Anyways moving on to my Next haul, from my favourite bath brand Gia bath and body works.

About the brand:

It is owned by really sweet lady Gayarti brown. What their website says about their product

Gia Bath and Body Works is a brand committed to making Hand-crafted Luxurious treats to pamper your skin. We make exquisite Hand-crafted bathing bars and skin care products In small batches while carefully choosing our ingredients and creating attractive body treats with unique designs and textures.
None of our products contain harmful chemicals or fillers to bulk out products, they do not contain any SLS, SLES, preservatives or hardeners. just the raw Natural & Pure ingredients.

They are suitable for most skin types.”

My haul:

Chocolate cupcake (300 Rs.)

It’s an interesting product specially the shape. You have to cut it vertically so that you get two halves with plain surface and then use it, it also makes the soap last longer. It smells of rich dark chocolate and is really tempting to eat had to remind myself several time not to eat it. Whenever I smell it I have intense craving for chocolate.

Mocha cream bodypolish bar (250 Rs.)

You all know my love for coffee so you should have guessed that I would have bought something with coffee in it and you guys are so right, I whiff of this bar and I had to get it. It smell of freshly ground coffee beans and have crushed coffee granules in it. I loved this soap and definitely repurchasing. This one is giving serious competition to my favourite Café Noir from Naysa.

Bulgarian Lavender silk designer body bar: (300 Rs.)

As the name says it smells of lavender and trust me the smell is so fresh and relaxing and absolutely divine. My sis loved the smell so much that she wanted to cut the soap in half so that she can use it too. I’m still contemplating the offer. Any suggestions?

Angel face cleanser (200 Rs.):

This was an impulsive buy and is a good product, but nothing great about it though. It smells of almonds oat meal and slight hint of rose. It is ideal for dry to combination skin.

Samples:

Jasmine absolute soap & Shea lavender body polish:

Gaytri was really generous to give these sample products to try and I'm quite impressed by the body polish. My mom claimed the soap as she loves the smell and I was happy to comply as I'm not really fan of floral smell.

Where to buy it: you can contact her through Facebook for these awesome soaps

Overall thoughts:

I absolutely love the smell of all the products and am very happy with all the products. For me Mocha cream bodypolish bar is an absolute winner and a must try product.

Rating: 5/5

Nyassa Haul & Express Review

Let me start by telling you, I absolutely love handmade bath and body products specially if they are made completely from natural products. Hence every time I pass a Soulflower shop or Nyassa shop in the mall my friends have to hold me down till we completely cross the shops, which is really good for my purse but very sad for me… L

Any ways this time I had my way and got lot of goodies for myself from Nyassa (for more info visit their website)…. Can’t wait to share it with you guys…

Read and enjoy…

My Haul:

Pack of 6 small soaps I can’t remember the cost sorry..

2 full size soaps café noir and manana Cubana (not in pic) (Rs 300 each).

And Arabian oudh shower gel (Rs 350)

I got pack of 6 small soaps one is missing from the  pic as I had already used it by the time I decided to click the pics…couldn’t wait , told you I loveeee them…… the soaps are (l-r) Shea butter, Green apple, Alphonso, Southern spice, Moroccan rose, under the ocean (not in pic)

The quantity is 25 g and they are suitable for all skin types.

Shea butter: saffron and honey
My skin loves it!!! It makes my skin so soft and supple plus it smells really good.. Definitely buying the bigger pack. I can skip my body moisturizer after I use this one..

Green apple: green apple extract, shea butter, raw cane sugar
Smells like an apple so…Not my most favorite but it’s not that bad. Works fine.

Alphonso: mango butter, mango leaf extract, raw cane sugar
Smells like mango. Every time I have bath with it I feel like eating mango ;P again love it.

Southern spice: cardamom essential oil and rose petal extract
It has very spicy kind of smell can’t really explain but I like it.it super awesome .. and I absolutely love it…

Moroccan Rose: walnut oil and rose petal powder
I hate it..don’t get me wrong the soap is good but I just hate smell of roses.. it makes me nauseas. Hence used just once, rest was finished by mom…

Under the ocean: seaweed extract and jojoba oil
This is my favorite soap. I love oceanic smells makes me feel all fresh and nice… next on list for full size.

Café noir: coffee extract and activated charcoal:

What company claims:

Coffee at shower, wakes up your skin to a fresh day
Coffee Extract: Antioxidant, Antiaging, Sun Protection
Activated Charcoal: Antimicrobial, Exfoliator, Fights Acne & provides Blemish free Skin

Quantity: 150 g

It smells like coffee so I love it…in fact I took it just coz it smells like coffee… I’m a coffee lover so anything that has or smells like coffee is must have for me..so it was impulsive decision but I’m really glad that I got it coz after using it I  love it…

It made my skin really nice and soft. It also reduced my sun tan considerably. Also my scars from my legs have reduced a bit. Plus the mild smell linger for long time.

I dint use it on my face so don’t really know about its claim to fights acne but over all I love it.

Arabian oudh shower gel haven’t used it yet so review coming up soon

Pros:
  • 100% vegetarian and no animal testing
  • Awesome smells
  • Lathers well
  • Cleanses nicely
  • Nice range
  • All natural ingredients
  • For all skin types
  • Didn't dry out my skin in fact I skip my moisturizer after using shea butter soap
  • Doesn't lose its shape even after using for long time

 Cons:
  • Price maybe for some but for the quality I think it’s worth it
  • Have to keep in dry place after use as they become soft it kept wet as they don’t have filler in them.

Rate:

5/5

Recommendation:

Absolutely must try they have awesome range.
