PAC Retro Matte Lip Gloss & Matte Lipstick: Review

Hi guys,

I recently visited PAC cosmetics shop which is in Andheri West Mumbai and got some amazing stuff. From the entire haul their lip products where my the most favorite hence I decided to review them first.

PAC had launched these beautiful matte lip-glosses few months back, but because it’s me and I’m lazy I got on this bandwagon bit late. I went to get the previous once, when the SA explained that they have come up with new packaging called V/2.0. How cool is that.. Anyways to know how these babies turned out please keep reading.

PAC Matte Lipstick

PACKAGING: Outer cover is quite sturdy in black color with the information in white. Lip gloss has word RETRO written in laminated font which gives it a cool look.

PAC Retro Matte Lipgloss is house in gradient plastic tube which goes from black to transparent so that you can see the color; it has black screw on cap. Shade number is written on the bottom. It comes with doe shaped applicator.

PAC Matte Lipstick tube is made of jet black metal and has magnetic looking system which works great and is quite strong. Same as gloss shade number is written on bottom. The packaging is very classy and chick

Overall the packaging is quite sturdy and travel friendly.

MY EXPERIENCE:

TEXTURE/FORMULA

PAC Retro Matte lipgloss: It has beautiful quick drying formula. The consistency is just right, its neither too liquidly nor too creamy just perfect. It glides beautifully on the lips and applies evenly in one go. Doe shaped applicator helps in reaching the edges perfectly giving crisp lines. Only issue is its bit drying and hence may settle in fine lines, which can be easily overcome by using good lip-balm or lip primer beneath.

PAC Matte Lipstick: they have beautiful creamy texture to it and glide on smoothly without tugging the lips. The formula is not completely matte but sort of creamy semi matte. It doesn’t dry out the lips and feels quite comfortable on lips.

STAYING POWER:

PAC Retro Matte Lipgloss: It has amazing staying time. Once they set they do not budge whatsoever. You will require heavy duty oil based makeup remover to get rid of these babies. They are absolutely smudge and transfer proof and they do not rumble or crease.

PAC Matte Lipstick: These have good staying power. They can survive some munching and light snacking. It starts fading after 5 hrs. but fades evenly and leaves slight tint behind. It dose transfer a bit but do not bleed or settle in fine lines.

SHADES:

PAC Retro Matte Lipgloss: I got 2 shades from this range.

No. 11: It is mauve pink and looks absolutely stunning. It is quite great for everyday use.

No 33: It is bright Coral pink which looks great for evening wear. Somehow this gives more velvety texture to lips as compared to No.11

Both the shade will look good for all the Indian skin tones, but in my personal humble opinion no. 11 will suit fair to medium skin better than darker toned beauties.

PAC Matte Lipstick: Again I picked up 2 shades from this range

No.21: Nude pink shades which I absolutely adore. It’s my MLBB shade. It looks pinker in the pic but on lips it’s the most perfect nude.

No. 24: It is very wearable maroon shade with nude undertone. On lips it’s very Kylie Jenner shade and looks perfect for summers.

Shade 21 will suit fairer shades but 24 is universal shade that will look good on all skin tones.

COVERAGE:

PAC Retro Matte Lipgloss: Single swipe is sufficient to give opaque finish, still if you want one can layer it on it doesn’t get cakey. 2 swipes might be required for pigmented lips.

PAC Matte Lipstick: It takes 1-2 swipes for opaque overage. Lip gives very smooth and even finish. Even if you layer it on it doesn’t look patchy or cakey.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: I think these are beautiful products and PAC has done amazing job with them. Pls do try their lip products they are absolutely amazing and they have huge collection of shades which means you will definitely find the most find a perfect color that looking for

My skin Savior: L’Oreal Paris Extraordinary Boosting oil.

Happy New Year…

So winters in Mumbai are not so bad but somehow my skin which is usually normal to oily acne prone turns in to extremely dry acne prone skin. I get lot of dry patches around my mouth and cheeks; hence it requires extreme TNC during winters and I have to be very careful not so use something that will flare my acne. Truly winters are really bad for me.

But this winter something miraculous happened when my sister gave me this bottle filled with golden elixir which transformed my dull dry skin to fresh well moisturised and hydrated skin without even one zit in existence.

It’s like I found ultimate nirvana product for my skin, the product is L’Oreal Paris Extraordinary Boosting oil.

Ingredients: Sorry all the information is in Chinese (I think) so not very sure.

How to use:

•  Use 3 drops in the morning for a radiant looking glow.
•  Use on cheekbones to highlight key areas.
• Use as a nightly massage alone or under your night cream
• Use on dry zones to leave skin intensely nourished with moisture.
•  Use with foundation to give natural glow to the skin

Packaging:

L’Oreal Paris Extraordinary boosting oil comes in clear hard glass bottle with cute white cap dropper. The dropper has small bulb at the end which helps to break the oil in small droplets for convenience of use and  reduces the chance of wastage if any. The packing is quite attractive and sturdy but not really travel friendly.

All the information is in Chinese (I think) hence won’t be able to share much but I did read some good reviews of this products.

Texture:

Oil has slight yellow tinge to it and is quite runny, unlike most oils. It spreads evenly and is quite lightweight which gets easily absorbed in the skin

Fragrance:

It has delicate herbal smell which mostly smells like chamomile and rosemary which is extremely soothing and relaxing. I love its smell it just calms me down instantly. Pure heaven.

My Experience:

Truthfully I LOVE this oil. There is nothing that I would change. It is the staple in my kitty as it is so versatile that I can use it any way I want; I use it by itself or add it with my serum or even mix it with my foundation. It always guarantees to give subtle glow to skin so much so that sometimes I can even skip my highlighter. Best part is you can see the effects form very first use.

It gets easily absorbed in the skin and doesn’t give any oily or shiny cast. It gives instant glow and makes skin look hydrated and well nourished. I have used this oil for 2 months now and it has given me brighter and clearer skin. I absolutely love this product as it makes my skin soft, smooth and most of all so healthy!!!

Best part even oily skin beauties can use it as this elixir has most light weight texture and gets easily absorbed in the skin and will help to re-balance the skin.

Overall thoughts:

It’s Ultra versatile Oil, which can be used in multitude of ways. It makes my skin feel healthy, plump, hydrated and gives glowing finish with every use. It is my Holy Grail product and a must buy as per me and one of best facial oil available in the market. Go and get it for you right now it is completely worth it.

Walk down the memory lane of my friendship with my BFF

Now we all can agree that friends play an integral role in our lives as they are the family that we select for our self. Hence I was quite excited to see that ZEE TV is to bring a fun-filled chat show Yarron Ki Baraat presented by Vivo Smartphone & co-powered by Amazon.in and Brooke Bond Red Label.

This show will put celebrity friendships to test through a series of fun challenges and tasks, to enjoy this interesting show tune into ZEE TV at 8pm on 8th October.

After seeing some trailers of this show I started to think that if I was to attend this show with my bestie who incidentally is also my bf it would be so much fun, considering we have such amazing (Read weird) memories.

I met my best fried during my first year in engineering, he was a studious person and I…well I was always a wild child and he has rooted me in more than one way. .. 

Our very first meeting was very filmy where in we were part of same dance group for college fest and I instantly hated him as I thought he had lot of attitude, as he dint apologies to me when he hit me while doing some dance stunt.  Needless to say the same feelings were reciprocated by him.

Like I said “total filmy”. Any ways as time progressed we realised that first impressions are not really last impression and became good friends.

Turning point of our friendship was when he helped me with my studies and helped me make friends. Growing up I dint have many friends (go figure!!) hence I was quite socially awkward to say the least. He became my best friend and for first time I realised how wonderful it was to have someone close to you with whom you can share your thoughts and be completely open with without any worry of being judged or bitched about. 

One of the most memorable moments of my life with him was when I was not well (had upset stomach) and needed black coffee which was not available in our collage he specially asked his friend who use to live in hostel to make it and get it for me. That’s how the foundation for our friendship was laid.

He has always looked out for me and helped me with my studies and now to make important life decisions. Truthfully I cannot imagine my collage life without him. He taught me to be more responsible and I taught him to loosen up and have fun. He truly is a yin to my yang.

We all have such friends in our life who make are life more interesting and fun.

Maybelline Lip Gradation: Swatches, Review

Hey all,

I know I’m bit late with this review and swatches, but I recently got my hands on all the shades that I wanted from this range, so here it is, better late than never …I guess .So without further delay let’s get on with it.

It’s time to experiment with your lip makeup. Available in 8 bright, matte shades, this double-sided lip product will inspire you to experiment with your looks. The color stick at one end will give a gorgeous pop of color while the cushion blender tool at the other end will give a sexy, graded look. For a complete trend-on look, apply color on the centre of your upper lip and use the sponge smudger to extend the color to the outer edges till the contours of your lips or use it as a matte lip color or a lip liner.

Packing:

It comes in slender tube with product on one side and smudger on the other side. Tube is of same color as the shade it hosts thus making it easier to find without much hassle. The packing extremely sturdy and travel friendly and pink1 is perpetually in my bag.

Texture:

Texture of these babies is extremely creamy and smooth. It just glides on your lips without any tucking.  It is super pigmented and gives opaque lips in just one swipe. It has no shine or gloss what so ever and it is completely non sticky on lips. Best part is even though these are matte lippies they do not settle in lip lines but sit very comfortable on lips. On application they settle in to powdery matte finish.

My experience:

Amongst all the color my favourite is pink 1 as its very wearable everyday color. These last for entire day (with meals) and I have to remove them with makeup remover at end of day.

L - R : Orange 1, Pink 1, Red 1, Fuchsia 1, Mauve 1

Orange1: it’s a medium reddish orange color, would look stunning on ducky beauties.

Pink1: As stated before I love this color. Its beautiful midtone color there is nothing “unique” per say but it’s extremely flattering on all skin tones.

Red1: Its beautiful cherry red, a must have for glamorous outings. It’s quite similar to MAC chili

Fuchsia1: Its perfect fuchsia, perfect blue based pink. This lippie is my dream come true.

Mauve1: Its most definitely not mauve but a brown nude. I seriously do not like this color as it looks muddy on me and washes me out, but would look pretty on medium to dusky skinned beauties.

Overall:

I really liked these as they are highly pigmented, longwear and very comfortable especially for the price, but color range is not so exciting. I still feel if you don't like to touch-up your makeup often, then you need these in your stash.
