Just herbs Kumuda – Indian White Waterlily Silicone Free Conditioner : Review

I have recently started using a lot of products from Just herbs as it claims to be 100% organic paraben free. I have recently reviewed Just Herbs 8 in 1 Root Nourishing Amla Neem Shampoo (Review here) which I usually follow up with this conditioner.

One thing about just herbs product is that they smell absolutely wonderful and one can just keep on smell it, and this product did not disappoint me in that department.

What the company claims.

"Just Herbs’ gentle hair conditioners are free from silicones and smoothen and nourish dull and damaged hair without causing ‘build-up’ in your strands. Vibhitaka, Indian Gooseberry (Amla), Bhringraj and hibiscus are known in Ayurveda for promoting hair health and stimulating growth while Fenugreek (Methi) helps fight hair thinning and hair-fall. The fragrant Kumuda or Indian white waterlilly adds elasticity, volume and body to brittle hair.
Free from petrochemicals, parabens, SLS/SLES PEG/PPG, Genetically modified ingredients (GMO) and other synthetic ingredients"

Ingredients:
jojoba oil, Hibiscus ext.*, Indian water lily ext., Eclipta alba ext., Amla ext.*(Emblica officinalis), Vibhitakah (Balleric myrobalan) ext.,Fenugreek seed ext.*, Grapeseed oil,Glyceryl stearate citrate/ cetearyl alcohol /glyceryl caprylate***, Octyldo- decanol***, Veg.etable glycerine*, Soy lecithin, Dicaprylyl carbonate***,Sodium benzoate, Potassium sorbate, Natural preservative blend of herbs and essential oils,Citric acid (ph adjuster)

Price: 595 for 200 Ml

Shelf life: 3 years (6 months after opening.)

Packing:

It comes in a simple transparent plastic bottle with pump for dispensing the product. I like the packaging of this product a lot especially due to the pump as it regulates the amount of product dispensed. As the product is white in color and the label is white and gold the overall packing looks very classy & chic

Texture/Smell:

Conditioner is white in color with creamy texture, and again it smells divine. I absolutely cannot explain how good the smell is. It really is to die for plus it stay on for entire day after using it. I love smelling my hair after I have washed my hair with Kumuda conditioner.

My experience:

As far as conditioner goes, I like this one. It works well, provides good nourishment and makes my hair fell nice and soft. It reduced the frizz to some extent but still I had to apply hair serum to keep it from tangling and becoming frizzy. It dint add any extra shine or bounce to my hair just the normal. One of the only things that I loved about this product is its irresistible smell which stays for up to 2 days after the wash.

Pros:
  1. Makes hair soft and smooth
  2. Convenient packing
  3. Awesome smell.
  4. 100% organic.
  5. Free from parabens
Cons:
  1. Didn’t add any shine or bounce to hair.
  2. Needs to be followed up with hair serum
  3. Bit expensive.
Ratings: 3/5

Overall: I love the smell and packaging of this product but the product itself is nothing special plus a bit on expensive side. I had lot of hopes from it as its 100% organic but it failed to fulfill my expectations.

Recommendation: Not really recommended.

Just Herbs 8 in 1 Root Nourishing Amla Neem Shampoo: Review

Recently there has been too much influx of “herbal” brands in India, but out of all these there are very few which manage to grab the attention and earn a well deserved place in our memory; and Just herbs is definitely one of them.

Just herbs claims that there products are 100% natural & Chemical free & the products are made with rare herbs. This brand has definitely won the hearts of many with it innovative products and good marketing strategy.

In past few weeks and I been facing lot of hair troubles from hair fall to frizzy hair etc.. etc..That’s when I decided to try it, plus after reading its ingredient list I was completely sold for this product. Another great thing about this brand is all the ingredients are properly mentioned with percentage, which is just great..

Please keep reading for detail review.

What the company claims.

“It is a great combination of eight herbs – Amla, Hibiscus, Heena, Tigonella Seed, Neem, Vetiver, Wheat germ Oil and Soy Lecithin. Indian gooseberry (Amla), for centuries, has been known to be effective for growth of healthy black hair, while wheat germ oil acts as an antioxidant, soy lecithin softens and repairs damaged hair thus reducing the dryness and brittleness associated with lack of nutrients necessary for a healthy hair growth. Hibiscus naturally darkens hair color and prevents premature graying, while neem and methi seed extracts deeply nourish and condition the hair roots thus controlling excessive hair fall.”

Price: INR 225 for 100 Ml

Shelf life: 3 years (6 months after opening.)

Packing:

It comes in a simple transparent plastic bottle with gold color screw on lid. Since the shampoo is green in colour it looks really chic and classy on first look. I like the fact that the bottle is transparent as it shows us how much product is still left, but I hate the screw on lid as closing the cap afterwards a big pain especially when your hands are wet and soapy after using it. Bottle has a decent size opening to dispense the product, but it doesn't help to control the amount of products it dispenses out.

My experience:

Whenever I try new shampoo it try it in 3 to 4 ways; just the shampoo, after mixing it with water, on oiled hair, on extremely greasy/dirty hair, with conditioner , on normal hair etc and then decide if it works for me or not.

So in some cases this worked well for me in so some not so much. Let’s see case on case basis

1.      On normal hair without Conditioner: It worked quite well, lathered well and cleaned my hair pretty well; but did not add any extra bounce or shine. My hair felt bit frizzy & Dry and in need of conditioner & serum. It did kept my hair grease free for almost 2 days even in this humidity.
2.      On normal hair with Kumuda Conditioner: It was bit better with conditioner, frizz was quite controlled and my hair dint feel quite dry still it required TLC of my trusted serum to avoid looking lacklustre.
3.      On extremely greasy/dirty/ oiled hair: It did not latter at all; I required double the normal quantity for my shoulder length hair. The end result was pretty bad as well. For some reason this shampoo dries my hair out.
4.     After mixing it with water: Diluted product works well on normal hair but not on oiled hair.

Overall: This product did not work quite that well for me. Its other claims to reduce hair fall and repair damaged hair also fell short to deliver. I had high hopes from 8 in 1 Root Nourishing Amla Neem Shampoo after reading some really rave reviews but it really disappointed me.

Pros:
  1. Gel like consistency
  2. Transparent bottle to check the usage
  3. Awesome, refreshing smell which last quite long.
  4. Keeps hair grease free for 2 days even in humidity.
  5. Enriched with natural ingredients
  6. Free from parabens and sulphates.
Cons:
  1. Makes my hair frizzy & dry
  2. Doesn't control dandruff or hair fall
  3. No visible shine or bounce added
  4. It needs to be followed with good conditioner and serum.
  5. Not travel friendly
  6. Expensive
  7. Need to use twice the quantity for oiled hair.
Ratings: 3/5

Recommendation:  This product has worked well for some people but not for me. You can try it as its 100% organic & herbal but I wouldn't recommend it from my experience.

Empties: #1 (SKIN & BODY CARE)

After seeing so many empties post and vlog I was inspired to do one as I’m a hoarder and keep on collecting junk for no apparent reason.

Below empties are of last few months combined and will do new post of empties once every 3 months in future.

Skin & body care:

1.     Votre Mangifera Hand & Foot Gel Cream Spf 15: (550Rs):
I had received it in fab bag, dint really like it smelled weird must have used it hardly 3-4 times. It had glue like consistence and texture and was over all a disappointment
Buy it again: Never
Recommended: Most definitely not recommend

2.      Nivea lipcare fruity shine: Cherry: (129 Rs)
It was my go to lip balm in winters. Loved it to bits as it moisturized really well plus gave a very nice rosy tint to the lips. It smells really nice and was sweet to taste.
Buy it again:  surely buy it again, once all my current lip balms are finished
Recommended: A must try

3.     Nivea lip butter: Caramel Cream: (189 Rs)
One more Nivea product, I quite like this balm for there lip balms. This was a decent product and used it mostly for night time. It smelled of caramel and was extremely moisturizing.  Good product but I don’t think ill but it again, since it came in tub packaging scooping out product was both problematic and unhygienic to say the least.
Buy it again: Probably not
Recommended: Not really

4.     Labello lip butter: Raspberry Rose: (189 Rs)
I felt it was copy of Nivea lip butter so pretty much felt same about it.
Buy it again: Probably not
Recommended: Not really

5.     Lakme Lip Love Lip Care: Cherry: (200Rs)
This is a really good lip product, but not a good lip balm. I liked the red tint that it gave to my lips. Most of days I could just use it instead of lipsticks which was good for winters as it provided decent hydration to lips
Buy it again: Probably not
Recommended: if you like tinted lips with light moisturising effect

6.     Mark & Spencer hand and nail cream: Cocoa butter: (199 Rs)
Loved this had cream and was my savoir in winters finished it in straight 2 months. It moisturised my hands really well plus smells divine. It has a very comforting, nice mild chocolaty smell.
Buy it again: Yes
Recommended: Totally

7.     Lakme absolute skin gloss gel crème: (399 Rs)
I was using it before winters started it is a good moisturiser for summer gets easily absorbed in skin without feeling heavy on skin and provided good hydration to skin. It’s a good light weight moisturiser with good texture But nothing great or outstanding about this product to mention per say
Buy it again: Probably not, there are other variants from other companies which I might try for summers
Recommended: Give it a try

8.     Neutrogena oil free makeup remover: (365 Rs)
One of my most favourite make up remover of all time. I must have used at least 3 bottles of this. Detailed review of it coming soon.
Buy it again: Yes. Already got the next bottle
Recommended: Totally

9.     Nyassa oudh showers: (349 Rs)
Awesome smell very fresh like early morning after first rain. Last for around 1-2 hrs. after shower. It cleanses the skin without drying the skin. Overall, a really nice product.
Buy it again: mostly Yes, currently using different variant from Nyassa
Recommended: Totally

10. EverYuth ultra mild apricot scrub: (70 Rs)
A good mild face scrub which does what its suppose to do but nothing out of ordinary. Also some people may find it too mild for their face. Good product if you are just getting hang of scrubs else give it a miss.
Buy it again: No
Recommended: Not Really.

11.Moha soap: Ayurvedic : (Rs 68)
Usually I like soaps with “ayurvedic /herbal smell” but not this one somehow I just dint like it. Okayish product I had high hopes as I had read some good reviews of it, But alas.
Buy it again: No
Recommended: No

So these were few skin care products I managed to finish in last months. Up next is hair care and make up empties.

This was my first attempt at empties please let me know what you think about it also if there are few points that I have missed that I should have covered please let me know.

Constructive criticism is always welcomed. Thanks!!

Product Launch Event: Dabur Vatika Jasmine Hair oil: Inddie Blogger Meet

  Hi, Every One..

For any blogger, one of the most important thing is when their work is recognized and appreciated, that is exactly what I felt when I was invited to attend product launch of Dabur Vatika Jasmine nonstick Coconut hair oil for frizz control hosted by Inddie blogger on 10 October 2015 held in Mumbai.

I have never attended any product launch or blogger meet before and this was my very first event with Inddie Blogger, hence I was very nervous but excited to attend it. It was held at BJ hall in Vile Parle west at 11.30 am, theme color for the event was green.

With restless energy and nervousness I reach hall and saw many bloggers waiting near the gate for the registration. Some I knew as I follow them and was quite excited to make acquaintances with them but still very shy. One of the blogger Geeta (Food blogger) actually pulled me into the conversation and introduced me to all her friends, needless to say that once the ice was broken conversations flowed freely.  We clicked lot of photos with our fellow bloggers against the Branded wall and posters.

Registration for the event stared at sharp 11.30 which was very surprising and hats off to the Inddie blogger team for achieving this as I was expecting that the event will start fashionably late.

We were asked to register ourselves and were given Id cards for the event. There was no sitting arrangement and were asked to select our own tables. Event hall was decorated beautifully with round tables and beautiful centre pieces.

Live Band Performance by Inddie Band

Event started with awesome live performance of heavy meatal by Inddie Band. They sang Pink Floyd- We Don’t Need No Education and taught all of us to do head banging. Later they sang poker face by Lady gaga. After this mesmerizing session we were serves cold tender coconut water with dash of lemon grass which was seriously delicious and some mouthwatering starters (All Veg).

Post band session an introduction session was conducted were in many bloggers introduced themselves and their blogs and giving the jest of themselves and their passion for blogging and in their chosen field.

MBA students from NMIS college were also invited for this event to give them practical understanding of how product launches take place which I feel is beautiful act on behalf of Dabur team and kudos to them for thinking this new and innovating way to unveil a product.

Product Unveiling and the science behind the oil….

Before unveiling the product the marketing head of Dabur explained the reason for introducing this hair oils and later the difference between the frizzy and non-frizzy hair was explained by Head of RnD department of Dabur. He also explained how the silicone oils in this product help to control the frizz in the hair, which was very educational.
Dabur Vatika jasmine Hair Oil was unveiled amidst the smoke and light show as the life size bottle of Jasmine hair made an entry on the stage.

After the product was revealed there were games (Rock paper scissors with BFF’s in which the winner had to mess up the loser hair, I lost in first round itself, thankfully my partner Rekha dint mess my hair too much, and some spot contests). Some bloggers shared their tips to have beautiful nourished hair, using just natural products.

Lunch

After the event we made our way to the buffet lunch. There was Indian and Italian food and awesome selection of desserts. Their Blueberry cheese cake was to die for…it was so soft and yummy that I just couldn’t help myself and ended up having  2 slices.

Goodies and free Hair Pampering session.

While leaving the hall we were given goody bag. This is wat I received:

1.      Dabur Vatika Jasmine Hair Oil (the new launch)

2.      Dabur Vatika Coconut Hair Oil (the best product by Dabur)

3.      Philips Smooth & Shine Hair Straightener (  gift wrapped in green wrapper )

This was followed with oil Champi and hair styling session for bloggers, where in we were given beautiful hair makeover by the stylist.

Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and made some really good friends. This was definitely best way to spend afternoon with strangers that made me realize that I’m a part of loving community.

Thanks Inddie Blogger for hosting such a beautiful event and bringing all the bloggers closer by organizing such beautiful events for us.. Great job..
