Bourjois Healthy Mix Illuminating Brush Concealer

Heyya beauty queens…
I believe everybody needs a concealer some day or other and hence it is very essential to have a good concealer as part of our makeup kittys. So I was on look out for a good drugstore concealer as the late night studies and continuous staring at laptop was taking a toll on my eyes...(under eye pigmentation and bags  L L). That when I found this Bourjois Healthy Mix Illuminating Brush Concealer. Let’s take a look at product and see how it fairs

Company claim: (from official website)
  •  Double action concealer for a brighter complexion and an instant anti-fatigue result!
  •  Conceal those imperfections in the stroke of a brush and smooth away dark circles.
  •  It is enriched with light reflecting pigments to illuminate the darker areas of the face. Its unifying texture will     glide onto the skin with a feather-light feel and give you a truly illuminated result!
  • Its innovation: A practical brush tip pen releases just the right amount of formula for a precise application, perfect for touch ups on the go!
  •  And it’s good for skin:
  •  Antioxidant vitamins C and E
  •  Hypoallergenic formula
  •  Dermatological tested.

Shades available:

It is available in 3 shades
61 Beige Claire 62 Beige Rose 63 Beige Dore
The shade that I’m reviewing is 62 Beige Rose.

Packing:

Its packaging reminds me of YSL Touche Eclat. Because of the bright red cap it’s easy to locate and the pen type packaging makes it easy to use. It has a brush for the tip which is soft and of good quality; it doesn't irritate the delicate under eye skin while applying the product. You need to twist the bottom part for the product to come out. We get enough quantity of product in one twist to cover an eye plus you can decide how much product you want and twist it as per that (good customization…). On the downside pen feels bit unhygienic and to clean it is bit of trouble.

Texture:

It is a liquid concealer and has a slight runny texture that makes it perfect for blending. I prefer liquid concealer for under eyes as the skin in this part is thinner then reset of face so bending can be bit of problem and I feel cream concealers makes under eye are look cackey..and can settle in fine lines..(my opinion)

Swatches :

Application:

Twist the pen to get enough product on the brush. Then put 5-6 dots and blend it with your fingers or any concealer brush. The brush on the tube is not enough for blending the product completely so we need to blend it finger for flawless finish. The set it with powder for better stay time.

Coverage:

It gives medium coverage for under eye portion and instantly brightens up my eye and makes them look fresh. It doesn't my under eyes look grayish which is definitely plus as it has yellow tones in it which is good for most Indian skin tones
You can build up the coverage as per your desire without the risk of looking made up or having cackey feel..
It doesn't cover acne marks so well (medium coverage) but still if used with corrector does a decent job on them as well…
We can also use Bourjois Healthy Mix Illuminating Brush Concealer as a highlighter on the face, under our eyes, the bridge of our nose, and on the highest cheekbones. It gives a nice subtle glow to face

Stay time:

I stay in Mumbai where climate is hot and humid plus I travel in trains I tend to get sweaty a lot still once I set with powder it stays for good 3-4 hours without fading but then it fades evenly without looking patchy.

Price: 615 Rs. I got mine from Slassy.com

Pros:
  •   Good coverage
  •  Affordable price
  •  Pretty good stay time
  •  Easy to carry for touch ups
  •  Can be used as illuminator
  •  Instantly brightens the tired eyes
  •  Good sturdy packaging
  •  Good amount of product

Cons:
  •  Availability
  • Pen brush is unhygienic
  • Shade selection is very limited
  • Doesn't cover acne marks completely.
  • Stay time could have been more.

Rating:
     4/5

Recommendation:

It is a good and affordable product if you need medium coverage for you’re under eyes and require brightening effect on most days. I would definitely recommend it.
