Haul : Colorbar

I  love December, weather is nice and cool in Mumbai. It is perfect to curl on bed with nice book and teaming cup of coffee. Also the city looks really pretty coz of festive lights and decorations of New Year. Other than this what also makes it my favourite month is that it's officially month for shopping as all the retailers are giving good discounts, and I took full advantage it. So you guys can expect lot of haul posts in coming weeks

My haul:

Eye shadow brush & eye blending brush: (250 Rs. each)

Wanted to try these for long time so when there discount on these grabbed it without even batting my eyelashes. I have tried these brushes few times and I quite like them, I feel they are worth their price.

Triple effect makeup: (825 Rs)

This is my all-time favourite face product. I'm on my 3^rd pan and I absolutely love it. It is part of my morning routine since 1.5 years and considering I get bugged of products very soon it’s an achievement. It is basically concealer compact and compact all role in 1 product. Will do a detail post on it soon.

Sheer cream lipstick (Popsicle) (750 Rs)

Love the color and texture of these but staying power is not so good. Again will do detail post on these soon.

Velvet matte lipstick (Peach Crush): (299 Rs)

This is a beautiful muted peach color and my go to lipstick for all the occasions. This is my second tube and I feel must try color for all.

Make Your Point Duo Cosmetic Pencil Sharpener (Rs. 225) & Makeup sponges (350 Rs):

Both the products do decent job and I’m happy with them. Cleaning sponges is bit of issue but soaking few minutes in soap water helps clean them better and faster.

 

I also got this complementary orange pouch as the total amount was more than 1000 Rs. It’s a nice pouch and pretty handy to carry stuff during travels.

All in all I'm happy with all the products from my haul. I got all the products at 15 % discount from New beauty centre at Khar West

Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 1

As a person I keep on having lot of phase in my life and same is true about my makeup obsessions. So right now I’m obsessed with eye makeup and you all can expect a lot of eye product reviews. 

So coming to today’s product……

Girls ladies and beauty queens….I present to you newest runner for Urban Decay Naked pallet Dupe…..The….Makeup Revolution Redemption Palette Iconic 1. There are total 3 pallets one for each of naked pallet, but I got only the first one to try it out

They are quite popular in blogging community and considered to be naked pallets dupe…now I don’t own any naked pallets but from comparison of online swatches I would say that they are pretty close match if not exact.

Also these are super affordable and now available in India….

Coming to the review part..

Packaging: 

It has a very basic plain packaging.. It has a very sturdy lid and double ended sponge applicator which is of ok ok quality won’t really use it for eye shadow application but maybe for inner eye application.. In this you get 12 eye shadows of 14 gms each.

Ingredients:

Shades:

It has mixture of shimmer satin and matte shades. Eyeshadows are placed in narrow strips just like in Naked Pallets. As they don’t have any names we will use numbers for reviewing it…

  

Shade 3 and 5 are matte and pretty much same color as my skin so the swatches are not visible but they are perfect for blending and softening the eyeshadows.

Shade 1 is perfect for highlighting the brow area and also the inner corner of eyes.

Rests of the shades are either shimmery or satin in shades of neutral and are perfect for every day makeup. 

Shade 12 and 11 are actually shades grey but looks more blueish in pan and some swatches, but it's actually beautiful shades of gunmetal and perfect for smoky look.

all the shades are beautifully pigmented and very easy to blend. Using the primer underneath brings out better color and helps color to last much longer without creasing for almost 6-7 hours.

Experience:

I find this pallet to be really versatile as you can use it for both night and day time look. All eyeshadows are really smooth feel very soft and buttery. They have very little fall out and stayed for 4-5 hours on me in Mumbai heat and humidity. Their stay time can be significantly increased by using primer or eye base underneath. I tried them with primer and stayed on me the entire day without fading, which is quite amazing especially for the price.

I feel this pallet is a gorgeous product specially if you are new to eyeshadows and are still experimenting and finding your way around them.

I believe everybody needs a concealer some day or other and hence it is very essential to have a good concealer as part of our makeup kittys. So I was on look out for a good drugstore concealer as the late night studies and continuous staring at laptop was taking a toll on my eyes...(under eye pigmentation and bags  L L). That when I found this Bourjois Healthy Mix Illuminating Brush Concealer. Let’s take a look at product and see how it fairs

The shade that I’m reviewing is 62 Beige Rose.

Packing:

Its packaging reminds me of YSL Touche Eclat. Because of the bright red cap it’s easy to locate and the pen type packaging makes it easy to use. It has a brush for the tip which is soft and of good quality; it doesn't irritate the delicate under eye skin while applying the product. You need to twist the bottom part for the product to come out. We get enough quantity of product in one twist to cover an eye plus you can decide how much product you want and twist it as per that (good customization…). On the downside pen feels bit unhygienic and to clean it is bit of trouble.

Texture:

It is a liquid concealer and has a slight runny texture that makes it perfect for blending. I prefer liquid concealer for under eyes as the skin in this part is thinner then reset of face so bending can be bit of problem and I feel cream concealers makes under eye are look cackey..and can settle in fine lines..(my opinion)

Application:

Twist the pen to get enough product on the brush. Then put 5-6 dots and blend it with your fingers or any concealer brush. The brush on the tube is not enough for blending the product completely so we need to blend it finger for flawless finish. The set it with powder for better stay time.

Coverage:

It gives medium coverage for under eye portion and instantly brightens up my eye and makes them look fresh. It doesn't my under eyes look grayish which is definitely plus as it has yellow tones in it which is good for most Indian skin tones

You can build up the coverage as per your desire without the risk of looking made up or having cackey feel..

It doesn't cover acne marks so well (medium coverage) but still if used with corrector does a decent job on them as well…

We can also use Bourjois Healthy Mix Illuminating Brush Concealer as a highlighter on the face, under our eyes, the bridge of our nose, and on the highest cheekbones. Stay time:

I stay in Mumbai where climate is hot and humid plus I travel in trains I tend to get sweaty a lot still once I set with powder it stays for good 3-4 hours without fading but then it fades evenly without looking patchy.

• Shade selection is very limited
• Doesn't cover acne marks completely.
• Stay time could have been more.

Recommendation:

It is a good and affordable product if you need medium coverage for you’re under eyes and require brightening effect on most days. I would definitely recommend it.

Za true white two way foundation (refill) shade 22

Hello beauties,

After using za whitening day cream I visited there counter in Indian beauty center (Mumbai ) for night cream and that’s when I saw this compact/foundation. I dint really need but got it just the same as I was really intrigued by it.

Just like inglot refills we have to buy the refill and its case separately. I only got the refill without its outer case as the plastic packing of the foundation is pretty sturdy and durable. i got shade 22 coz i have yellow undertones and its a perfect fit...

Price: just the refill is for 550 INR  Case + refill is around 900 INR

Packaging:

It comes in simple plastic box. Box contains a foundation powder and application sponge. Application sponge is packed in separate plastic which becomes pretty useless after you open it. The foundation case is very sturdy and travel friendly and doesn't open easily in commute.

Texture and coverage: it is excellent. The powder is very silky and fine and soft to touch. It gives medium to full coverage in one application. It is a two way foundation which means that you can apply it with wet sponge for heavier coverage or with dry sponge for medium coverage.

                                          

My experience:

My skin is acne prone combination type which tends to be on oilier side in summers. It is a 2 way foundation but I usually apply it over my foundation to extend its wear time. However I have tried applying it with wet sponge just once to check out if it is really two way foundation or not and I was really pleasantly surprise that it was!!!

It went on smoothly with no patchiness or giving cakey effect or feel. Plus it stayed on for around 5-7 hours even in Mumbai’s humidity (at night). As a compact powder it stays on for 4 hours which is really a record for any compact in the sweltering heat and humidity of Mumbai in summers. I’m sure its stay time will increase exponentially in winter and in drier climates. I got shade 22 which is perfect match for my skin tone. It has lot of yellow undertones so will be suitable for Indian beauties; it comes in 5 shade so I’m sure all the ladies will find their perfect match.

It blends very easily and doesn't give white cast or chalky effect but matches perfectly with the skin. It has a mild sweet smell but it vanishes after few minutes of application also the smell is not sickling sweet but very pleasant which will mostly not bother any ones sensitive nose.

Also it doesn't easily transfer on your cell phones or shirt collars. It is a wonderful product for ladies with oily skin or oily t zone as it controls the shine very effectively and gives a matte look also it doesn't require frequent touch ups. Dry skinned ladies can use it with moisturizer underneath. I have a huge acne problem and most of the products don’t suit me but this one dint cause any breakout or even mild acne problems for me. Yay!!! Also it has SPF 20 PA++ which mean one really doesn't require sunscreen underneath.

Only thing that I dint like is the applicator. It is not totally useless but not really useful as well. So I mostly just use my powder brush to use it.

Overall I really love this product and at this price it is complete steal away.
